About Cross Cultures Magazine

History
Cross Cultures was launched in 1991 on Canada Day and distrubuted free in Southwestern Ontario.
Conceived to complement the growing diversity of Canada's ethnic and cultural makeup.
Our Mission
"Promoting mutual respect and harmony through knowledge and better understanding".
Transcending barriers: Cross Cultures is an open forum for everyone to participate.
It was and continues to be a great source of information about the different cultures and faiths of the people of Canada, written by the people of Canada,
through dialogue and the exchange of knowledge.
Cross Cultures does not take any stand on issues, instead we welcome
freedom of expression for all..
We try not to offend anyone, and wish to stress the fact that the articles reflect the individual writers' opinions.
We also believe that culture is not only about ethnicity - food and music etc, indeed it is about the extent of civility of its people
towards each other and especially towards its most vulnerable, be they the elders, children or most importantly, towards its minorities.
Any culture is the outcome of its peoples' history and past experiences.
Culture is also about how we express all this in poetry, drama, theatre, music and the visual media.
You are invited to add, discuss, comment, share thoughts whether you agree or disagree. Send us an article, poem, short story ...
be positive, be active
Join in the dialogue, lets all take a more informed approach towards mutual understanding
